Welcome to Part 1 of I Dream of Packing Suitcases

I dream about packing suitcases.

We have not left Germany since March 2020. We have not left our state and we have barely left our city. My life went from always having a next trip planned to nothing. Things are still up in the air, sadly not literally, and our old travel patterns may be far from returning. 

So, as we hit the one year “anniversary” of lockdown, all I want is to see something other than my apartment and my neighbourhood. I want to jump on a plane, pack my tiny toiletries, and book a trip. 

I want to visit the USA and Finland and dance through the aisles of grocery stores, gathering food products to stuff my suitcases with favourite treats. And while I’m there… I will eat all the food. After years abroad, my shopping and need to bring things back to Germany had slowed down… But I fear, the fear of not being able to travel will push me back into excess luggage. 

Until then, we can dream. So for 3 episodes, I recruited some fellow women entrepreneurs in Munich to talk about the things they miss from the places they have called home.
